Egyptian Theatre to hold screening of ‘@home’
March 31, 2015
The Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St., will hold a screening of “@home” at 7 p.m. April 7.
The one-hour documentary film “@home” follows social activist Mark Horvath across the United States while he observes and interviews people suffering from homelessness. The event is sponsored by the Egyptian Theatre, the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St., and Hope Haven, 1145 Rushmoore Drive.
A panel discussion about homelessness in DeKalb County will be held after the film. Panel speakers will include Rep. Bob Pritchard, R-Hinckley, Lesly Wicks, Hope Haven executive director, and Dan Kenney, director of the DeKalb County Community Gardens.
The panel discussion will offer local community members the opportunity to ask questions regarding homelessness in the area, said Edith Craig, DeKalb Public Library department manager.
“We want to know what is being done to help this,” Craig said. “Anyone that wants to know more about this should come.”
