NIU women’s basketball: Huskies host Central Michigan Chippewas

By Northern Star staff

Women’s basketball will looks to end its four-game skid when it hosts the Central Michigan Chippewas today.

The Huskies (10-14, 6-8 MAC) and Chippewas (12-13, 7-7- MAC) will tip off 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

Amanda Corral is keeping her scoring high, averaging 20.6 points in her last eight games and shooting 49 percent from the field.

For the Chippewas be on the lookout for senior guard Crystal Bradford, who is working her way back from an injury. In the teams’ last meeting — Jan. 10 in Mount Pleasant, Mich. — she scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out four assists and recorded two steals and two blocks.

NIU is the No. 9 seed in the MAC Tournament while Central Michigan is the No. 8 seed. A win would go a long way in helping the Huskies earn home-court advantage in the first round of the MAC Tournament as seeds 5-8 get to play the first-round game at home while 9-12 are on the road.
