Softball returns to action this weekend at the Trojan Invitational in Troy, Alabama.

The Huskies open the weekend against the Evansville Purple Aces (2-7) 12:30 p.m. and the Troy Trojans (3-6) 5:30 p.m. Friday. They take on the Kennesaw State Owls (5-2) 10 a.m. and Troy 12:30 p.m. Saturday. They close out the weekend against the Connecticut Huskies 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Huskies opened the season Feb. 6-8 at the Hampton Inn & Suites Texas State Invitational in San Marcos, Texas. They posted a 2-3 record and won two of their last three games after starting 0-2.

The bats came to life to open the season as the Huskies belted nine home runs in their first five games. By comparison, the Huskies hit all of 28 home runs in 57 games last season.
