DeKalb County is set to be hit with 1 to 3 inches of snow Wednesday night, according to a National Weather Service statement.

A light snow will start in the afternoon and continue into the night, but it will begin to taper off overnight, according to the statement.

Lake effect snow showers will continue across northwest Illinois until Thursday morning, according to the statement.
