Kayti Grable, softball sophomore first baseman, was named MAC West Player of the Week, the conference announced today.

Grable, the reigning MAC Freshman of the Year, hit .500 (8-16) with three home runs, three runs scored and nine RBIs in the season-opening weekend.

She also posted an on-base percentage of .556, a slugging percentage of 1.062 and an OPS of 1.618 as the Huskies went 2-3 at the Texas State Hampton Inn & Suites Invitational from Friday through Sunday in San Marcos, Texas.

This is Grable’s second weekly conference honor. She picked up her first MAC West Player of the Week award March 17.
