Two DeKalb Sheriff inmates injured in Yorkville accident

Two inmates were injured when a semitruck crashed into the back of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s transportation van Monday in Yorkville.
A deputy was transporting four inmates to Kendall County Jail on Route 47 when he stopped the transportation van because of a stopped vehicle in front of it, causing the semitruck to run into the rear of the van. The two inmates who were injured were treated at Rush-Copley Medical Center and transported to Kendall County Jail.
The deputy and the two other inmates were treated at the scene and the semituck driver was not injured. Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies transported the remaining inmates to Kendall County Jail.
Yorkville police are investigating the accident.
