Military Student Services to hold event to help vets find jobs
February 26, 2015
Military Student Services will hold Bridges to Employment, a networking opportunity, 3-6 p.m. March 18 in Altgeld Hall, second floor ballroom.
A panel of veteran professionals will be present to provide guidance about transitioning from armed forces to working forces. Networking and interview opportunities will be available, and free food and drink will be provided.
Dwayne Malone, interim director of Military Student Services, said Bridges to Employment is one of the department’s most successful annual events.
“Bridges to Employment is an assembly of executives and senior managers from public and private sectors,” Malone said. “They engage in a panel discussion educating veterans on the strengths they bring to future careers. Following the panel, the veterans attend a networking forum of professional partners which empower the student veterans with the work skills necessary to succeed.”
