February 6, 2015
Track and field will go toe-to-toe with some top-tier competition at this weekend’s invitational.
The Huskies continue their indoor season Friday and Saturday at the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, Ind.
In addition to Notre Dame, the Huskies will compete against the Big Ten’s Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana and Purdue, the ACC’s Pittsburgh and the SEC’s Vanderbilt.
Sophomore Claudette Day, who broke three school records at last week’s Jack Johnson Invitational, will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, high jump and long jump this week.
Also competing for NIU on the track will be sprinters A’Iesha Irvin-Muhammad and Latesha Bigby and long-distance runner Kelsey Hildreth.
Senior throwers Sidra Sherrill and Erin Scott will highlight the Huskies in the field events.
