Gymnastics needed every point of its season-high 194.025 score to knock off the defending MAC Champions, Central Michigan.

The Huskies (4-1, 2-1 MAC) beat the Chippewas (6-3, 2-1 MAC), 194.025-193.925, Friday at McGuirk Arena in Mount Pleasant, Mich. It was the Huskies’ first win over the Chippewas since 2008.

NIU won on uneven parallel bars (48.6-48.325) and balance beam (48.3-47.45). The Chippewas won on vault (49.025-48.3) and floor exercise (49.125-48.825).

Sophomore Megan Greenfield was the only Huskie to post a top score in any of the four events. She scored a 9.825 on balance beam.
