The DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St., will host a beam signing 9 a.m. Jan. 21, celebrating the completion of the library extension’s steel frame.

Construction of the extension, a 47,000-square-foot area that will include a three-story building and more parking, began July 27 and will be completed in 2016, according to a Jan. 20, 2014, Northern Star article.

The celebration will include a continental breakfast and remarks from Graham Harwood of CCS International, Inc. Community members may sign the beam at anytime throughout the day, according to a DeKalb Pubic Library news release.
