Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will bring the Russell Wilson Passing Academy to NIU over the summer.

The youth football camp is designed for children ages 8-17. The one-day camp will be held June 25 at Huskie Stadium and the Chessick Practice Center.

NIU will serve as the sixth location to host a Russell Wilson Passing Academy.

Wilson said NIU’s proximity to Chicago and his relationship with Athletic Director Sean Frazier made NIU the right choice to host his next camp, according to a news release.

Wilson played with the Wisconsin Badgers in 2011 after four years at North Carolina State.

Frazier, who’s in his second year at NIU, was Wisconsin’s deputy director of athletics in 2011 and spent six years with the Badgers.
