DeKalb had no holiday-related fires this year: Fire Department

By Northern Star staff

The DeKalb Fire Department saw no holiday-related fires this season, according to a Fire Department news release.

The department hung up a wreath with red bulbs on Thanksgiving; if a holiday-related fire had occurred, a red bulb would be replaced with a white one. The wreath was up for 35 days and no red bulbs were replaced.

The department logged 459 requests for emergency services and 10 fires while the wreath was up, but none of the fires were holiday-related, according to the news release.
