January 15, 2015
Six people face drug charges after DeKalb police learned meth was being sold out of a hotel room, according to a police news release.
DeKalb police received a tip that meth was being used and sold in a DeKalb hotel room. Officers stopped a vehicle leaving the hotel and called for a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office canine unit.
The vehicles’ occupants, Andrew Brown and Cody Landwehr, were found to be in possession of pot, meth residue and paraphernalia, and hypodermic syringes.
Four others — Gerald Cook, Daniel Clayton, Katie Macadam and James Clucas — were identified upon leaving the hotel room. When searching the room, officers recovered a gram of meth, about 504 grams of pot, drug paraphernalia and hypodermic syringes.
Officers charged Brown and Cook with obtaining meth from elsewhere and selling it to local users. Officers determined the pot belonged to Landwehr, who intended to sell it, according to a release.
Additionally, Clucas was found in possession of a small amount of heroin and hypodermic syringes.
