Wrestling dropped by Michigan State

By Northern Star Staff

Wrestling failed to find a rhythm Friday against the Michigan State Spartans, dropping eight of its 10 matches.

The Huskies (7-6) fell to the Spartans, 27-6, at the Chick Evans Field House.

Senior Tyler Argue (141) and redshirt sophomore Shawn Scott (197) snagged the lone victories for the Huskies. Argue won by decision, 8-3, while Scott picked up a 6-3 decision.

No pins were recorded in the 10 matches. Five Huskies lost by decision — two of which came by one point — while three others lost by major decision.

The Huskies will wrestle in their first conference dual when they take on the Central Michigan Chippewas 1 p.m. Dec. 20 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.

Their winter break continues at the Midlands Championships 9:30 a.m. Dec. 29 and noon Dec. 30 in Evanston.
