Students, faculty honor fall of Berlin Wall

German Department Chair Katharina Barbe shows her West Berliner passport and a piece of the Berlin Wall at the 25 Years After: The Fall of the Berlin Wall event Thursday in Cole Hall, Room 100. Known in German as “Der Mauerfall,” the Berlin Wall fell in Nov. 9, 1989. 25 Years After: The Fall of the Berlin Wall included presentations by professors Dennis Brain and Katharina Barbe about the history and impact of the wall. Barbe, who was raised in West Berlin, shared stories about living near the Berlin Wall.
