DeKalb Fire Department to raise money for winter coats
October 15, 2014
The DeKalb Fire Department is raising money to buy coats for local children this winter.
The department and DeKalb Classroom Teachers Association will fundraise through Operation Warm, a nonprofit organization that raises money to buy coats for children across the United States.
Donations for DeKalb children can be made at Operation Warm’s website, bit.ly/1vwhF44.
Funds raised from DeKalb residents will be allocated to Operation Warm Headquarters, where coats will be made and sent to the DeKalb Fire Department. The department will distribute the coats to local children before and after Thanksgiving. An exact time and place is to be determined, but will be announced by the end of the week, DeKalb Firefighter Patrick Eriksen said.
