Men’s soccer shut out in Michigan
October 19, 2014
Men’s soccer failed to find its offense in its second conference game, dropping a 3-0 road contest.
The Huskies (2-6-5, 0-1-1 MAC) were blanked by the Western Michigan Broncos (7-4-3, 1-0-1 MAC) Saturday in Kalamazoo, Mich.
After neither team scored in the first half of the game, the Broncos found the back of the net three times in less than 21 minutes to put the game out of the Huskies’ reach.
Hunter Vandenboom scored in the 51st minute, Greg Timmer put in a second goal in the 70th minute and Connor Furgason added a third goal in the 72nd minute for the Broncos. Western Michigan’s second and third goals came on corner kicks.
The Huskies’ winless streak reached eight-straight games, with their last win coming Sept. 12. They have scored five goals in that stretch and only one goal in their last five games.
The Broncos fired off 16 shots, including five shots on goal. The Huskies managed only eight shots with three shots being on goal.
