Man found with 2K grams pot: cops

Alec S. Hafeman, 21, of DeKalb, has been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis more than 2,000 grams but no more than 5,000 grams, unlawful delivery of cannabis more than 2,000 grams but no more than 5,000 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hafeman was pulled over on a traffic stop for speeding along South Annie Glidden Road on Monday, said NIU Police Cmdr. Don Rodman.
“There’s a mobile conveyance law where if an officer smells the odor of cannabis he can then move towards a search of the vehicle and person,” Rodman said.
Hafeman admitted to having cannabis and officers located 2,270 grams of cannabis in Hafeman’s vehicle.
Hafeman’s bond call was at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
