The city will perform a call test 10 a.m. Wednesday to all registered phone numbers in the CodeRED Emergency Notification System.

The CodeRED system was established in August to notify residents of local emergencies, missing persons and public safety alerts.

The test is designed to measure how quickly the notifications are received and to validate the phone numbers in the system. The notifications will consist of verbal messages sent to land lines and cell phones, as well as text messages and emails.

Sycamore residents can register their information and specify their notification preferences at the city’s website, www.cityofsycamore.com.
