Art Museum to hold symposium

The Art Museum and the Center of Burma Studies will host a free public symposium Sept. 18-19 called Imaging the Others: The Art of Ethnography in Modern Burma.
The event will begin with an informal talk and reception 4:30-6:30 Sept. 18 in the Art Museum gallery. The symposium will continue 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 19 in Altgeld Hall, Room 315. Discussions will be led by professors from Illinois universities and abroad covering the topic of art in Burma. There will be a lunch break 12:30-1:30 p.m.
