Homeless animals helped by events

TAILS Humane Society will host a day of events to raise money for homeless animals.
The 5K-9 Run for the Rescues kicks off at 9 a.m. and is followed by the 1-mile Mutt Strut dog walk at 9:30 a.m. The Fun Fest, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., will include demonstrations, vendors, activities for kids and rescue dogs available for adoption. All events will be held at Hopkins Park, 1403 Sycamore Road.
Activities will include crafts, a bounce house, pet contests and agility equipment for dog attendees. The DeKalb Police Department will also do a demonstration with its canine unit, and Boy Scouts and Culver’s will have food for sale. More than 16 vendors will be present.
Registrations will be taken on site at the event 7:30-8:30 a.m. Attendees do not need to have a dog to run or walk the course.
