Malya Villard-Appolon, 2012 CNN Hero of the Year, will visit NIU Tuesday.

Villard-Appolon will speak at noon in the Regency Room at the Holmes Student Center.

The associate director of Komisyon Fanm Viktim Pou Viktim, the commision of women victims for victims, Villard-Appolon helps victims of sexual violence in Haiti.

KOFAVIV has helped more than 4,000 rape survivors since 2004.

The visit is sponsored by the NIU Anthropology Museum in promotion of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the museum exhibit Fragments: Haiti Four Years After the Earthquake.
