NIU’s Asian American Center is teaming up with departments and student organizations to support Independent Awakening’s #ILoveMySelfie national campaign.

Tables will be set up from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 at DuSable Hall and the Holmes Student Center for students to take selfies.

Independent Awakening is collaborating with multiple universities, high schools and organizations across the United States to help collect more than 1,000 images. With the images, they’ll create a national self-love campaign that promotes positive self-image and the importance of loving oneself first.

Departments and organizations are asked to encourage students to take photos of themselves holding up their favorite quotes or inspirational messages.

Students can tweet the photos to @E3awakening with the hashtag #ILoveMySelfie, like and post pictures to Independent Awakening’s Facebook page or email photos to [email protected].
