A local man died following a Sunday night car accident on Route 23, according to a report from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Patricia J. Fisher, 45, of DeKalb, was driving when she lost control of the car and spun into another lane, according to the report. Terry R. Gile, 67, of DeKalb, then hit Fisher’s car.

Gile was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital and died a short time later. A passenger in Fisher’s car, Lora Olson, was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital.

The accident happened at about 5 p.m.
