A food delivery driver and two others were arrested after officers discovered 200 grams of pot in the driver’s car.

At 1:25 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb police received a call from a person who said a local delivery driver was in fear of being shot. The delivery driver, Sal Scardina, 19, of DeKalb, was found in the 1000 block of West Hillcrest. Scardina was arguing with two others.

Officers found 200 grams of cannabis in Scardina’s car and learned the two others — Eric Hess, 23, of DeKalb, and Tyler DeGaetano, 25, of DeKalb — were allegedly selling pot from their apartment in DeKalb. Scardina allegedly purchased and stole pot from their apartment. DaGaetano called Scardina and threatened to kill him, according to police.

DeKalb’s Targeted Response Unit assisted in the investigation. Officers found drug paraphernalia, pot and more than 50 suspected ecstasy pills at the apartment after a search warrant was executed.

Scardina, Hess and DeGaetano were each charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.
