The NIU Robotics Club got the chance to mentor members of the Fox Valley Robotics & Batavia Robotics inside College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies Facilities.

The team spent several hours with club members, who are in the first through 12th grades, reviewing last year’s robot designs and the year’s design process.

Robotics Club members are planning another meeting with the Fox Valley youth, this time in Batavia.

As part of a STEM organization the club helps to encourage students to stick with related fields by awarding scholarships, much of which goes unclaimed.

The Robotics Club is helping STEM in other ways, like building a website and looking for corporate sponsorships.
