Cops nab 13 in arrest sweep

Thirteen of 20 wanted suspects were arrested Wednesday after DeKalb Police implemented Operation Surprise!.
The sweep included narcotics investigations after “complaints of illegal drug trafficking, and [it] focused on the street-level unlawful sale of controlled substances in the DeKalb area,” according to a news release from the police department. Fifteen warrants have been issued so far in regard to narcotics investigations and others were related to various other investigations.
The U.S. Marshals Service, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Sycamore Police, NIU police, the Drug Enforcement Administration and DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office assisted the police department.
Arrested in the sweep:
• Samuel U. Jones, 39, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Christian M. Elliott, 19, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Class 2, bond $75,000. • Zachary J. Dion, 27, of Sycamore: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance, Class 2, bond $50,000. Arrested by Naperville police.
• Kevin L. Hunter, 22, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park/school, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Joseph R. Hannon, 18, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a senior facility, Class 2, bond $50,000.
• Bryan M. Wiersma, 20, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, Class 1, bond $50,000.
• Joshua J. Silva, 20, of DeKalb: Aggravated battery/mob action, Class 3, bond $20,000.
• Andres Mendez, 19, of DeKalb: Aggravated battery/mob action, Class 3, bond $50,000.
• Hugo G. Lazaro, 17, of DeKalb: Criminal damage to property (felony), Class 4, bond $20,000.
• Shane P. Trigger, 27, of Cortland: Child pornography/indecent solicitation of a child, Class 2, bond $75,000.
• Christopher K. Riggs, 37, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of senior facility, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Kevin C. Florczak, 20, of Westmont: Unlawful possession of controlled substance, Class 4, bond $5,000. Arrested by Westmont police.
• Juvenile, of DeKalb: Aggravated battery/mob action, no bond warrant (JJC)

• Brandon J. Valentine, 23, of Chicago: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Nathaniel O. Reynolds, 26, of Maywood: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, Class X, bond $150,000.
• Kyndal C. Meeks, 21, of Aurora: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Jordan C. Hopkins, 20, of Sycamore: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Preston M. Williams, 27, of DeKalb: Unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Class 1, bond $100,000.
• Neil T. Mackey, 36, of DeKalb: Unlawful possession controlled substance, Class 4, bond $5,000.
• Jaclyn M. Myers, 32, of DeKalb: Possession of firearm without FOID, Class A, bond $3,000.
