The ROTC program has recognized two Elgin teenagers’ work and named both cadet of the month.

The two students to receive the award were Maximilian Ehret, a sophomore geology major who is part of the battalion’s Rifle Team, and Nicholas Wiltsie, a freshman physical education major who is part of the battalion’s Ranger Challenge Team.

The students were be evaluated by a board. The evaluation consisted of an assessment of material from military science class and military bearing and courtesies.

The students were also asked about their future goals and had to address how they are going to accomplish them.
