Police reports: Sept. 6-8

Friday

• At 1:12 a.m., an officer went to New Hall West for a report of an intoxicated person. The office met with an intoxicated person who was younger than 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 1:47 a.m., an officer patrolling Stevenson Towers North met with an intoxicated person who was younger than 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 2:27 a.m., an officer patrolling Lot W met with an intoxicated person who was younger than 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

• At 11:24 a.m., an officer went to the NIU Police Department for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is closed.

• At 7:06 p.m., an officer stopped a car at Stadium Drive and Annie Glidden Road. A person in the car had pot and was given a verbal warning for possession of cannabis.

• At 9:15 p.m., community advisers in New Hall West met with people who were younger than 21 and drinking alcohol. The people were referred to housing officials.

• At 10:52 p.m., an officer went to Swen Parson Hall for a report of criminal defacement of property. The officer took a report, but determined it to be unfounded.

• At 11:05 p.m., an officer went to New Hall West for a report of pot. The officer determined the report to be unfounded after an investigation.

Saturday

• At 7:53 p.m., an officer went to the Recreation Center for a report of theft. The officer took a report, but the case was closed on Sept. 2. On Saturday, the case re-opened with new leads.

• At 1:15 a.m., an officer went to Stevenson Towers North for a report of pot. The officer met with a person and referred to the person to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

• At 1:21 a.m., an officer patrolling the 900 block of Greenbrier Road met with Jimmy Rodriguez, 28, of Woodstock. Rodriguez had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of larceny, battery and domestic battery. Rodriguez was arrested.

• At 2:35 a.m., an officer went to Lot X for a report of criminal damage to property. The officer determined the report to be unfounded.

• At 3:23 a.m., an officer patrolling the 800 block of Greenbrier Road met with Tyesha N. Stephens, 25, of DeKalb. Stephens had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of shoplifting. Stephens was arrested.

• At 4:44 a.m., an officer went to Lot O for a report of a person trying to open cars. The officer met with Francisco Vallejo, 20, of Chicago. Vallejo, who was intoxicated, was arrested for burglary to motor vehicle, criminal trespass to motor vehicle and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 12:08 p.m., an officer went to the NIU Police Department for a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The complainant gave the officer false information. This case is open.

• At 8:06 p.m., an officer went to Neptune North for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending investigation.

• At 9:40 p.m., an officer went to New Hall West for a report of pot. The officer referred two people to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

• At 11:39 p.m., officers went to North Annie Glidden Road for a report of domestic battery. The officers met with Samuel D. Applebaum, 18, of Flossmore, who was in possession of pot and drug paraphernalia. Applebaum was arrested for domestic battery, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• At 11:40 p.m., a community adviser at Gilbert Hall observed damage to property. The incident was reported to housing officials.

Sunday

• At 12:33 a.m., an officer patrolling Douglas Hall met with an intoxicated person who was younger than 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

• At 12:55 a.m., an officer went to New Hall West for a report of pot. The officer took a report and determined it to be unfounded.

• At 12:59 a.m., an officer went to Stevenson Towers North for a report of pot. The officer took a report. This case is closed.

• At 1 a.m., an officer patrolling Grant Towers North service drive met with a person in regard to pot. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

• At 1:11 a.m., an officer patrolling the 900 block of Greenbrier Road met with Robert G. Murdach, 19, of Chicago. Murdach, who was intoxicated, attempted to flee from the officer. Murdach was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing a peace officer.

• At 2:19 a.m., an officer stopped a car at Loren Drive and Annie Glidden Road. An intoxicated person in the car was younger than 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 2:39 a.m., an officer patrolling Lot X met with a person in regard to pot. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

• At 2:42 a.m., an officer patrolling Grant Towers North met with an intoxicated person who was younger than 21. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

• At 3:38 a.m., an officer patrolling Douglas Hall met with a person in regard to theft. This case is pending investigation.

• At 10:31 p.m., an officer went to Anderson Hall for a report of criminal defacement of property. The officer took a report. This case is open pending investigation.

• At 11:14 p.m., an officer went to Neptune West for a report of pot. The officer met with two people and referred them to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
