Police Reports: June 19-June 22

The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

June 19

• At 1:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of criminal damage at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St.

• At 1:42 p.m., a man filed a complaint and said his vehicle had been towed without his permission on March 31 at a hearing about the tow. An investigation is currently pending.

• At 6:01 p.m., an officer apprehended Jarred Jones, 33, of Sycamore, who was wanted on a warrant in Kane County. Jones was arrested and later released on bond.

• At 7:02 p.m., an officer received a report of deceptive practice at 820 Edgebrook Drive. An investigation in regard to the report has been opened.

• At 8:21 p.m., a car was pulled over after an officer found the person the license plates were registered to did not have a valid license. The driver, Cayetano Lopez, 36, of DeKalb, was arrested for driving without a license or insurance. Lopez was released after posting bond.

June 20

• At 7:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of theft at Phillips 66, 1102 N. First St. No arrests were made.

• At 9:58 a.m., Dymetrius Town, 23, of DeKalb, was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.

• At 11:31 p.m., officers received a complaint that someone had repeatedly used a paintball gun to shoot the home at 515 Fisk Ave. The report of criminal damage was filed, but no arrests were made.

• At 2 p.m., Larry D. Williams, 24, of Chicago, turned himself in and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a charge of larceny. Williams was later released on a bond of $575.

• At 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of retail theft at Schnucks, 975 S. Annie Glidden Road. Jody L. Wilhelm, 54, of Shabbona, was arrested for the offense.

• At 7:59 p.m., a man reported he had almost been hit by a vehicle on the 1000 block of Blackhawk Road. The man said a woman was driving and seemed to attempt hitting him on purpose.

• At 3:24 p.m., officers received a report of a person being harassed via text message at 1230 Pleasant St.

June 21

• At 7:09 a.m., officers responded to a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle at 657 N. 10th St.

• At 10:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of battery at a Greenbrier Road address.

• A DeKalb woman reported that her identity had been used to create a phone account by someone else. The report was documented with no suspects.

• At 10:16 p.m., officers discovered a man, Lovalle C. Davis, 20, of DeKalb, shooting a BB gun in a manner violating city ordinances. Davis was issued a complaint, and the gun was confiscated for evidence.

• Kathryn S. Mangieri, 24, of Carol Stream, was arrested on a charge of phone harassment at 912 Edgebrook Drive. Mangieri was later released on bond.

• At 10:18 p.m., Russell J. Truite, 50, of DeKalb, was arrested at 875 Fotis Drive on a warrant for driving without a valid license.

• At 5:37 p.m., police received a call from a man at 1010 Pleasant St. who wanted to report that, although he did not want immediate action taken, his ex-wife was harassing him on the phone, and if it continued, he would ask police to take action in regard to phone harassment.

• At 5:47 p.m., a woman filed a report of theft on behalf of one of her patients at the DeKalb Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road. The woman said a gold wedding band and a watch had been stolen from her patient.

• Demetrius M. Hall II, 22, of DeKalb, was arrested for unlawful possession of weed with intent to deliver.

June 22

• At 12:46 a.m., officers responded to a report of an alcohol-related fight at Lord Stanley’s, 142 E. Lincoln Highway. An investigation was started.

• At 7:01 p.m., an officer responded to a report of a loose dog at 513 N. 10th St. The dog was returned to his owner a block away.
