The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday

At 12:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Crane Drive address in reference to a wellbeing check. Upon arrival, officers determined a domestic battery had taken place. Daniel J. Wilson, 22, was charged with domestic battery.

At 5:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1123 Lewis St. for a report of disorderly conduct. Following an investigation, Marcel C. Rice, 25, was charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

At 9:27 p.m., officers responded to 800 Kimberly Drive in reference to a battery. The complainant advised she saw a large group outside her residence fighting. One of the participants appeared to be knocked out. Officers arrived on scene and learned members of the NIU Police Departments chased one of the participants to 912 Edgebrook Drive. Upon arrival, the individual appeared under the influence and did not cooperate. Stephon M. Harris, 23, was charged with resisting, obstructing identification, obstructing justice, failure to appear—driving with a suspended license and failure to appear—possession of cannabis.

Thursday

At 5:57 a.m., following a traffic stop at 1000 W. Hillcrest Drive, Maria Gonzalez, 29, was charged with no valid driver’s license and no insurance. Gonzalez was released on bond with a court date.

At 2:19 p.m., officers responded to Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road, for a female who was stopped for theft. Erika J. Marquez, 24, was charged with retail theft and was released on bond.

At 2:30 p.m., Janittra A. Edwards, 22, turned herself in on a warrant for failure to appear—disorderly house. Edwards was released on bond.

Friday

At 2:35 a.m., officers entered McDonald’s, 805 W. Lincoln Highway, and observed vehicles going around a vehicle that was parked in the drive-thru line. Officers approached the vehicle on foot and saw a male sleeping in the driver’s seat and a male sleeping in the passenger’s seat. The vehicle was running and the gear shifter was in the drive position. Officers tapped on the window and the driver woke up. Following further investigation, Michael V. Santacaterina, 21, was charged with DUI.

At 1:47 p.m., officers responded to Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, David J. Rae, 19, was charged with retail theft and was released on bond.

At 6:56 p.m., officers responded to Burritoville, 1026 W. Hillcrest Drive, for an intoxicated subject being disorderly. Following an investigation, Paulino Rios-Luis, 51, was charged with battery.

Saturday

At 11:44 a.m., following a traffic stop at 900 W. Lincoln Highway, Said Sanchez-Gomez, 24, was charged with no valid driver’s license and was released on bond.

At 11:43 p.m., following a traffic stop at 1100 W. Lincoln Highway, Jacob Q. Grady, 23, was charged with possession of cannabis and no seat belt. Grady was released on bond with a court date.

Sunday

12:49 a.m., officers went to 831 Kimberly Drive to serve a warrant. Tawone L. Autman, 20, was charged with failure to appear—driving with a suspended license. Autman was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 2:17 a.m., officers responded to Lukulos Restaurant, 890 Pappas Drive, in reference to a report of criminal damage to property. Dispatch advised the complainant called because he witnessed a highly intoxicated individual attempt to enter and damage his vehicle. The suspect remained on the scene. A witness advised when he pulled into the lot he saw the suspect looking in the windows of the complainant’s vehicle. He retrieved the complainant and the complainant advised he saw the suspect pull on his door handle extremely hard until he pulled it off. Officers spoke with the suspect, who was barely coherent and refused to pay for the damages. Timothy M. Arundel, 24, was charged with criminal damage to property. Arundel was released on bond.

At 3:24 a.m., the victim called the police department to report he was battered by his ex-girlfriend at a Legacy Drive address. Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties. Danessa Jon Laskey, 27, was charged with domestic battery. Laskey was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Montes, 18, and Trevor S. Cervenka, 20, was charged with disorderly conduct. Both were released on bond.
