At 8:31 p.m. on April 18, an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of domestic battery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. After speaking to the complainant the officer determined the incident was assault rather than domestic battery. On Monday, an individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for harassment by telephone. The assault case is still open pending further investigation.
At 12:27 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers North in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer made contact with the individual in the room in question. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 1:06 a.m., an officer was dispatched to New Hall East in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 11:35 a.m., an officer on patrol of the Holmes Student Center made contact with an individual who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of retail theft. Sean M. Johnson, 24, was arrested and then released at the scene on $175 bond.
At 11:55 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of credit card fraud. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 2:15 p.m., officers on patrol of the 800 block of Fotis Drive made contact with an individual who had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a traffic offense.
At 6:56 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers South in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer made contact with the individuals in question. The officer determined the incident to be unfounded.
