The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
At 9:36 a.m., officers responded to a report of a domestic battery in progress. The complainant reported that the incident was occurring in a vehicle traveling on North First Street. Officers arrived in the area and located the complainant as well as the victim. The suspect was located in a residence nearby. William H. Chasteen, 33, was charged with domestic battery for bodily harm and domestic battery for physical contact. Chasteen was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
At 11:03 a.m., Richard S. Donaldson, 19, turned himself in on a warrant for possession of alcohol by a minor and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Donaldson was released on bond with a court date.
At 1:23 p.m., following a traffic stop at 100 N. Annie Glidden Road, Kendra N. Windom, 27, was charged with no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration. Windom was released on bond with a court date.
At 2:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1000 W. Hillcrest Drive for a report of the complainant’s ex-girlfriend following him around and not leaving him alone. Following investigation, Jorrie A. Pelock, 22, was charged with an ordinance violation.
At 4:29 p.m., officers were dispatched for a complaint of a dog running at large on the 400 block of Colonial Drive. Following investigation, Martin Aguirre, 47, was charged with dog running at large.
At 4:48 p.m., while investigating a different call at 403 Colonial Drive, a male subject drove into the driveway of the residence the officers were at. The male, Martin Aguirre-Barraza, 46, was found to be driving on a suspended license. Aguirre-Barraza was arrested, booked and later transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
At 7:13 p.m., officers responded to Welsh Park, 800 Russell Road, for a report of disorderly conduct. The caller told dispatchers the suspect had broke her car window with a metal bar. There were men and women screaming in the background. Upon arrival, officers found many people in the park. No one flagged officers, and officers spoke to several people but no one admitted to seeing anything. After stopping at the suspect’s and the victim’s apartments, officers discovered a person had potentially been stabbed or cut and was en route to the hospital. Following investigation, Cameron A. Craig, 25, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery.
