Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! to perform at the House Cafe

By Kevin Bartelt

If you are interested in expanding your musical horizons, try some French pop, punk music. No, not three separate genres but all at once.

Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! will perform 6 p.m. Sunday at the House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway. The group got its name from the cult classic 1980s movie “The Goonies.”

Although it sounds primarily metal, the young French musicians do blend different styles of music together well. The group sounds similar to Asking Alexandria.

“Pardon my French” is the band’s second album and is due for release April 30. Hopefully, the members will demo a few of the songs from the new album. Some tracks to check out from Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!’s first album include “In Friends We Trust” and “Captain Blood.”

Tickets for Sunday’s show will cost $12 in advance or $14 at the door.
