The Board of Trustees will hold a special open meeting at 1 p.m. today to appoint the university’s president.

The meeting will be held in Altgeld Hall, Room 315. Faculty, staff, students and members of the community are invited. There will be a welcome reception from 1:45 to 3:30 p.m. in Altgeld auditorium and remarks begin at 2 p.m.

President John Peters officially steps down June 30 and the new president is expected to begin July 1.
