Blotter 4/18 – 4/19

Thursday

At 11:06 p.m. on April 12, an officer was dispatched to Lot V in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Thursday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 3:18 p.m. on April 12, an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of deceptive practices. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. While speaking with the complainant the officer determined the incident was being falsely reported. On Thursday, Januar C. Molsby, 19, was arrested on a warrant for allowing use of a credit card by another. Molsby was processed at the NIU Police Department and released on $500 bond.

At 2:33 a.m., officers responded to Lot O in regard to a report of a fight in progress. The officers made contact with two individuals, one of whom were under 21 and intoxicated. The individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery. On Thursday, the individuals were also referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 3:54 a.m., an officer on patrol of New Hall West made contact with an individual in regard to a report of battery. Michael A. Davis, 18, was arrested for battery and processed at the NIU Police Department. Davis was released on $150 bond.

At 3:05 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Graham Hall in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. When the officer made contact with the individuals involved in the incident, one provided false information to the officer. Two individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for disorderly conduct. One individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for obstructing a peace officer.

At 8:31 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of domestic battery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. After speaking to the complainant the officer determined the incident was assault rather than domestic battery. This case is open pending further investigation.

At 11:13 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of cannabis. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with individuals in the room in question. Three individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Friday

At 12:43 a.m., an officer on patrol of New Hall West made contact with an individual who was under 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

At 12:52 a.m., an officer on patrol of New Hall West made contact with an individual in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. Erik S. McDowell, 18, was arrested for disorderly conduct. McDowell was processed at the NIU Police Department and released on $120 bond.

At 11:40 p.m., officers on patrol of Lot O made contact with an individual who was under age 21 and intoxicated. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
