Spring Break Playlist
March 6, 2013
Need something to listen to this spring break?
Look no further. Whether you’ll be lounging by a pool or picking up extra work hours, music is vital to enjoying a much needed break. Here is a playlist of songs for every musical taste and the activities they have planned for their time off.
Bobby Darin, “Call Me Irresponsible”: Find yourself bitten by the love bug this spring? Turn up the volume of this pop standard and twirl around the room reveling in the sweet silliness of love. They just don’t write sweet little ditties like this anymore.
The National, “Mistaken for Strangers”: When your shift at the coffee shop is over or while you’re traipsing around Downtown Chicago, The National is always a good choice. Matt Berninger’s voice is thoughtful and exciting, and “Mistaken For Strangers” is a great song for those who want to infuse their break with those traits.
Ke$ha, “C’mon”: The perfect background song for those who have a week of parties and other mischievous shenanigans planned. After all, isn’t spring break designed for blowing off steam and making youthful mistakes and memories?
Ryan Adams, “Lucky Now”: This song washes over the listener like the heat from a sunset. It’s mellow and nostalgic-hallmarks of Adams’ current songwriting MO. A great song for relaxing with a book and long (or short) drives from your spring break activities.
Justin Timberlake Ft. Jay-Z, “Suit & Tie”: Everyone likes Justin Timberlake. Oh, you don’t yet? You should. JT’s latest effort is smooth, danceable, and deliciously infectious. Sit back and enjoy.
