The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
At 2 p.m. on Feb. 12, an officer on patrol of Stevenson Complex made contact with an individual in regard to a report of theft. The officer took a report. On Monday, this case was closed at the request of the complainant.
At 5:47 p.m. on Feb. 22, an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Monday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 5:37 p.m. on March 2, an officer was dispatched to the Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Monday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer was dispatched to the Stevenson Towers South in regard to a report of battery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Monday, the individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery.
At 6:42 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Lincoln Hall in regard to a report of battery. The officer arrived on scene and investigated. Phillip L. Polk, 19, was arrested for domestic battery and processed at the NIU Police Department. Polk was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
