The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
Monday
At 11:33 a.m. on Feb. 20, an officer responded to the Douglas Hall dining area in regard to a report of theft. The officers met with the complainant and took a report. On Monday, this case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 5:37 p.m. on Thursday, officers met with an individual at the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. Officers took a report and initiated an investigation. On Monday, this case was close due to a lack of leads.
At 8:44 a.m., officers on patrol of Northern View Apartments made contact with an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of domestic batter. Willie D. O’Bannon, 21, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. He was released on $375 bond.
At 4:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 5:53 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of criminal damage. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 6:52 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Founders Memorial Library in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
