Wednesday

At 11:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Regent Drive residence for a report of a subject who stole the victim’s phone. Upon arrival, it was determined a domestic battery took place. The suspect was located a short distance away. Darren Howard, 21, was charged with domestic battery.

At 8:43 a.m., officers responded to a Bent Grass Circle residence for a 911 hang-up. While en route, it was upgraded to a domestic battery complaint. The suspect left the scene and was located a short time later. Jarrah D. Price, 28, was charged with domestic battery, interfering with reporting of a domestic battery and possession of cannabis. Price was transported to DeKalb County Corrections for a bond hearing.

At 8:23 p.m., officers responded to an East Hillcrest Drive residence for a report of a domestic battery. Upon arrival the suspect admitted to striking her daughter with a cord while they were arguing. Pamela M. Williams, 40, was charged with two counts of domestic battery. Williams was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 7 p.m., following a traffic stop at 300 N. Seventh St., Jesse A. Frampton, 23, was charged with driving with a suspended license and improper display of license plate. Frampton was released on bond.

Thursday

At 1:19 p.m., officers responded to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, in response to a retail theft. The security officer saw two subjects stealing. One of the suspects exited the store without paying for $876 worth of merchandise. The suspect drove recklessly through the parking lot and bailed from the vehicle causing the car to crash into the movie theater building. The suspect ran from responding officers but was apprehended. Jamika C. Smith, 19, and Terrick W. Chester, 19, were charged with retail theft. In addition, Chester was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, aggravated fleeing/eluding, reckless driving and resisting a peace officer.

At 10:05 p.m., Jason H. Webster, 40, turned himself in on an original warrant from Ogle County for traffic violations. Webster was released on bond.

Friday

At 12:41 a.m., officers observed a vehicle that had been used in a retail theft, and whose owner was known to have a valid warrant, turn to the left quickly and park on North Lincoln Drive. Officers made contact with the driver as he exited the vehicle. Ralph F. Johnson, 22, was charged with driving with a suspended license. The passengers were identified and released.

At 1 a.m., following a traffic stop at 1000 W. Hillcrest Drive, Nickolas C. Hunley, 23, was charged with driving with a suspended license. Hunley was released on bond with a court date.

At 1:54 p.m., a victim called 911 and spoke with dispatch then disconnected. Dispatch called back and a male answered, said it was an accidental, and hung up. NIU police arrived on the scene, 821 Crane Drive, and saw the female look out the door. Officers knocked several times and nobody would answer the door. Building management arrived and several warnings were given that officers were entering the apartment with a key. Entry was made and Lou A. Gillespie, 22, was located inside after being banned from the premises. Gillespie was charged with criminal trespass and was released on bond.

At 1:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a retail theft complaint. Following investigation, Philip S. Caes, 20, was charged with retail theft. Caes was released on bond.

At 9:52 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Varsity Boulevard residence for a domestic battery. The suspect was trying to move items out of the house and allegedly smacked the victim in the face. Ashley E. Oddo, 23, was charged with domestic battery.

At 10:02 p.m., officers observed a suspect walking downtown. Officers knew there to be an active warrant for his arrest. Dispatch confirmed the warrant and Benito Alamia, 54, was charged with failure to appear—driving with a revoked license. Alamia was released on bond.

At 11:01 p.m., following a traffic stop at 1200 W. Lincoln Highway, Demarcus J. Lyles, 33, was charged with an original warrant from Montgomery for possession of drug paraphernalia. Lyes was released on bond.

At 11:25 p.m., officers observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations. Following a traffic stop at 200 S. Annie Glidden Road, Abigail Flores, 18, Alejandra Serna, 18, Rubi Y. Garcia, 18, Michelle Contreras, 18, and Samantha R. Santilli, 18, were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. Santilli was also charged with possession of cannabis, speeding, no insurance and no plate light. The driver was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. The four passengers were released on a signature.

Saturday

At 2:22 a.m., officers arrived at 900 N. Annie Glidden Road in reference to a fight. Officers located the suspect at Jimmy John’s, 850 Pappas Drive, and he advised he got into an altercation while on the bus because an individual stole his glasses. He handed officers a pair of glasses advising they belonged to him. The victim came to the scene and identified the suspect as the individual who struck him in the face and stole his glasses. Officers located another pair of glasses inside the suspect’s breast pocket. Zackery I. Downey, 21, was charged with battery and theft.

At 2:12 a.m., following a traffic stop at 100 S. Pearl St., Cory E. McCaslin, 28, was charged with driving with a revoked license and disobeying a traffic control device. McCaslin was released on bond with a court date.

At 12:47 p.m., the complainant contacted the police department to report a solicitor complaint. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect exiting a building in the complex. The suspect, identified as Earnest B. Blossom, 56, advised he worked for ResCom soliciting energy customers. The company did not have a permit to solicit business. Dispatch advised Blossom was wanted on a parole violation warrant. Blossom was charged with the parole warrant for an armed robbery charge. Blossom was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.

At 4:25 a.m., following a traffic stop at 900 N. Annie Glidden Road, Ashanti O. Jones, 21, was charged with obstructing identification, driving with a suspended license and no rear registration plate light.

At 2:07 p.m., Christopher C. Biegalski, 23, turned himself in on charges for failure to notify police, leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane use and failure to leave information with the other individual. Biegalski was released on bond.

At 2:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to Kohl’s, 2070 Sycamore Road, for a report of retail theft. Following an investigation, Melanie E. Lockett, 18, was charged with retail theft and was released on bond.

At 5:29 p.m., officers responded to Schnucks, 975 S. Annie Glidden Road, for a report of retail theft. Following investigation, Deonte M.J. Moore, 19, was charged with retail theft, possession of alcohol and possession of paraphernalia.

At 7:26 p.m., following a traffic stop at 1100 State St., Jandy Rodriguez, 30, was charged with driving with a suspended license and was released on bond.

At 9:11 p.m., officers were called to Walmart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a retail theft report. Following investigation, Benjamin R. McGranahan, 20, was charged with retail theft.

At 7:29 p.m., officers received a report of reckless driving. Following a traffic stop at 200 S. Annie Glidden Road, Robert Douglas Cram, 47, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage.
