Wednesday
At 3:03 a.m., an officer on patrol at Stadium Drive and Lucinda Ave made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle attempted to resist the officer during the span of the investigation. Cooper E. O Brien, 20, was arrested for resisting/obstructing a peace officer, possession of cannabis, and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was processed at the NIU Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
At 11:05 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open and pending further investigation.
At 12:37 p.m., an officer was sent to the Women’s Resource Center, 105 Normal Road, in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 8:33 p.m., an officer on patrol of New Hall East made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 9:55 p.m., officers on patrol of Neptune Hall East made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 11:47 p.m., an officer on patrol of New Hall West made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Contact resulted in the individual being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.
Thursday
At 11:04 a.m., an officer on patrol of Douglas Hall was approached by an individual in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and a report was taken. The case is open and pending further investigation.
At 1:34 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune West in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. The officer met with the complainant and a report was taken. The case is open and pending further investigation.
At 10:31 p.m., an officer was sent to Wirtz Hall in regard to a report of criminal damage to property. The officer met with the complainant and started an investigation. The case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 11:34 p.m., officers on patrol of Neptune East made contact with an individual in regard to cannabis. Contact resulted in the officers discovering that the individual was in possession of a controlled substance. This case is open and pending further investigation.
