The opening of the Rockford Leadership Academy will be celebrated today by the NIU College of Education and Rockford Public School District 205.

The Academy was created by the COE and Rockford Public School District to enhance leadership skills among principals and assistant principals. The kickoff event will be held at NIU-Rockford, 8500 E. State St. in Rockford, at 4 p.m. The academy runs through April 24.
