The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
At 8:51 p.m., officers responded to KFC, 1115 W. Lincoln Highway, for a report of a subject who smelled like cannabis hanging out in the lobby. On arrival, officers passed the man and smelled fresh cannabis. They then asked the suspect if he owned a valid Illinois driver’s license and he said yes. He lied twice about his name. The suspect then attempted to run. Officers attempted to stop him from leaving and he struggled to get away. The suspect ran out of the store but was taken into custody in the parking lot. Parkland A. Beard, 21, was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver within 1000 feet of a school, resisting a peace officer and obstructing identification.
At 9:47 p.m., officers responded to 906 Kimberly Drive for suspicious drug activity. On arrival, officers spoke to a couple of subjects in the apartment. Christopher Davis, 26, was charged with failure to appear—domestic battery.
At 10:54 p.m., following a traffic stop at 100 W. Lincoln Highway, Johnathan Robinson, 24, was charged with driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
