MLK activies planned

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, several groups will host events, including a week-long food drive for the Salvation Army.
The MLK Week of Service Committee will be collecting non-perishable foods at all MLK week events.
The discussion Project on Civic Reflection: The Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Revisited, sponsored by the Interfaith Challenge Team, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Holmes Student Center’s Heritage Room.
The Women’s Resource Center will discuss the different diversity organizations at NIU during Advocacy in Action: NIU Cultural Centers. The event will take place 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Holmes Student Center’s Glass Gallery.
The Center for Black Studies will host an open discussion and video presentation on race relations and social inequality from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Center for Black Studies.
Reading and Leading with the NIU Huskies will be held at various elementary schools in the DeKalb school district.
