The following was taken directly from the University Police. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law. The University Police Department provides police reports on the Web at finfacil.niu.edu/PublicSafety.
At 11:15 p.m. on Friday, an officer was dispatched to Stevenson Towers North for a report of criminal damage to property. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with an individual. The officer determined that the individual was not 21, intoxicated and possibly responsible for criminal damage to property. The individual was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. On Tuesday, Brandon A. Cater, 19, was arrested on a warrant for criminal damage to property. He was processed at the NIU police department and released on $200 bond.
At 4:21 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to an individual who had an active arrest warrant for unlawful use of a credit card. Myeisha S. Jones, 18, was arrested and processed at the NIU Police Department. She was released on $500 bond.
At 5:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the NIU Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
