The autopsy results for David Bogenberger, a 19-year-old freshman who was found unresponsive Nov. 2, indicated he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.351 percent.

DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller ruled the death accidental. Bogenberger had an enlarged heart, and the amount of alcohol he consumed triggered arrhythmia, according to Miller.

Bogenberger was found at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house, 1020 W. Hillcrest Drive.

In a Nov. 7 article, the Northern Star reported that the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity would face temporary university sanctions as a result of an investigation by NIU officials into alleged violations by the fraternity of the university’s Student Code of Conduct.

Editor’s Note: In the interest of full disclosure, the Northern Star would like to indicate that the Star’s sports editor, Brian Thomas, is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
