Whether the world ends or not, there will be plenty of opportunities to live it up on Dec. 21.

The House Cafe, 236 E. Lincoln Highway, is holding a party with various bands and DJs performing. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show ends at 2 a.m. The acts include The Coop, OurGlass, DJBLS, Mike Lundgren, Twerk Alert, DJ Shane-O, and Filibusta, according to the House Cafe website.

People of all ages are welcome to add. It will cost $7 to attend the entire night and $5 to attend between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

“It’s going to be a good time,” said Matthew Clark, event co-ordinator for the House Cafe. “A lot of local favorites are on this bill.”

Hometown Sports Bar & Grill, 241 E. Lincoln Highway, will be hosting an event on Dec. 21, as well. More details will be posted on its Facebook page and website, www.hometownsportsbar.com, according to employee Zack Flagg.

A band named Between Planes will be hosting an end-of-the-world party at Just Goods, 201 Seventh St. in Rockford, for a cause.

“There will be no charge for the concert but we do ask for a donation that goes toward the food pantry here,” said Just Goods manager Winniy Chin. “There will be a place for food to be donated to the Salvation Army, as well.”

The event will start at 7 p.m. and all ages are welcome to attend.
