NIU to celebrate international education and programming this week

NIU will celebrate international education this week, according to NIU Today.
The celebration is sponsored by International Programs. According to NIU Today, Deborah Pierce, associate provost for International Programs, the goal of the celebration is to host special activities that will draw interest in NIU’s global profile.
On Tuesday, a Fulbright Specialist Award workshop for faculty and research associates will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Room 406. English department chair Amy Levin and Emily Prieto, Latino Resource Center director, will discuss how to apply for Fulbright appointment.
On Wednesday, a Student Fulbright workshop will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center’s Sky Room. A minorities and study abroad session will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in DuSable Hall, Room 406.
Art historian Catherine Raymond will hold a scarf-tying demonstration on Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center’s Sky Room. On Friday, a lecture by Southeast Asia scholar and Burma specialist David Steinberg will be held at noon in the Sky Room.
