A program for students interested in studying Spanish and journalism will debut in South America next summer, according to a ECELA Spanish news release.
The program is a six-week study abroad session for students planning to become journalists and use Spanish in their career, according to ECELA Spanish. The program will take place from July 7 to Aug. 17 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The maximum number of students who can enter the program is 30. No price for participating in the program has been set yet, but the expected cost will be about $2,300, according to ECELA Spanish.
Participants will study two semesters worth of Spanish and participate in a journalism seminar in Buenos Aires. According to ECELA Spanish, Argentina has a long tradition of emphasizing the importance of the media, and this program presents a chance to work behind the scenes while improving Spanish communication skills.
Proficiency in Spanish is not required, but students with intermediate Spanish skills are encouraged to attend the program a few weeks early, according to ECELA Spanish.
