Wednesday
At 5:07 p.m. on Nov. 9, an officer was sent to the Campus Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Wednesday, the case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 8:52 a.m., an officer on patrol at Douglas Hall was approached by a person in regard to a report of theft. The officer took a report from the complainant. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 1:54 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune Hall West in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 3:28 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 6:31 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune Hall East in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 7:27 p.m., an officer on patrol at Huskie Stadium made contact with a person who was under 21 and in possession of alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.
At 8:59 p.m., officers were sent to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of battery. Officers arrived on the scene and initiated an investigation. Two people were identified as offenders. They were under 21 and intoxicated. The two people were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Thursday
At 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 19, an officer was sent to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of residential burglary. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Thursday, the case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 8:44 a.m., an officer was sent to the Holmes Student Center in regard to a report of forgery. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 11:31 a.m., an officer was sent to the Engineering Building in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.
At 1:01 p.m., an officer was sent to Douglas Hall in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 3:42 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 7:05 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 7 p.m., an officer was sent to the Campus Recreation Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case is open pending further investigation.
At 9:30 p.m., an officer on patrol at Cole Hall met with Joel Thalla, 22, of Aurora. Thalla had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense. Thalla was arrested and sent to the NIU Police Department. He was then sent to the DeKalb County jail.
At 10:57 p.m., officers were sent to Stevenson Tower North in regard to a report of cannabis. Officers met with people in the room in question. The meeting resulted in the people being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
